Book Description (Blood Oath – book one):

Raya Sarian has always known she was different. The water calls to her in a way that isn't human. She has seen things that would scar anyone for life. And her father has been non existent in her childhood.

Because he is a Siren.

A blood drinker.

A monster.

And now she must live with him in a world populated with deadly enemies and dangerous friends. Can she survive the year?

Book Description (Blood Island - book two):

With Elizabeth on the loose and Byron free to roam the halls of headquarters, the Siren community is on edge, waiting for the impending first strike.

And it comes when three Elders are found dead after they go out for their monthly hunt.
Now, for the protection of the soon to be heir to the throne, Raya and her friends are sent to an unmarked island where Sirens walk in the sunlight without fear. It's their island.

And it might just be the key to a dark plan.

Excerpt from Blood Island:

Emma chokes on her own blood, which is quickly pooling in her mouth. Her eyes tear up, the aqua color of her irises amplified by the water that is flooding out. She reaches her hand forward and begs to be saved, for the pain to stop.

Raya tries to go to her and help make the dying process as easy as possible, but she can’t move. Her feet are glued to the floor, unable to take a step. Raya watches as Emma dies yet again in front of her eyes, helpless and clawing at the knife protruding from her tiny body.

Raya screams out in anguish and tries to end the dream before it progresses to what she knows is coming next, but it’s hopeless. Everything swirls, as if in a whirlpool out at sea, and Raya now sits on a throne amidst a crowd of Sirens who bow before her.

Isaac, Drew, Tiana, Kat and Jameson are chained to the spotless gold floor, Siren guards holding them up. Raya looks to her left and right and sees Elizabeth and Byron smiling like proud parents. He waves his hand to gesture to the guards to continue.

With swift movements, Raya watches as her friends’ necks are all snapped. They fall limp onto the floor, their eyes showing no signs of life. She screams and begs and cries, but the dream continues anyway.

Everything swirls again, but, this time, the whirlpool does not cease its motion. Raya kicks against the current of the water, but it pulls her farther down. Her lungs burn and the world becomes darker and darker as she goes deeper and deeper.

The ocean is cold against her skin and suddenly she can’t hold her breath any longer. The ice fills her chest rapidly as she drowns. As her vision blurs, she goes limp. There is nothing left within her to fight the inevitable. This is what happens every night. It doesn’t matter what she tells herself before bed; no pep talk will help. She will always drown in the end.

Raya’s eyes shot open and she gasped for breath, happy to feel that her lungs were not heavy with salt water. She relaxed after a few more inhales and felt the sweat roll down her forehead.

She calmed down the racing pace of her heart and slowly fell into a dreamless sleep. Morning was only a few hours away and then she would be on a boat to Haimos. Maybe the island air would finally quiet the dying screams in her head.
